Behind the Business
Before entering the executive search field, Gary spent twenty-five years selling to the Automotive Industry. Companies that he represented manufactured: plastic components, switches, castings, stampings, forgings, aluminum, and zinc die castings, EPP and EPS foam.
In 1986 he founded Sieger Enterprises, Inc., a multi-person manufacturers’ representative business, built on the single principle of building long-lasting, mutually beneficial business relationships with Automotive OEM’s and Tier One suppliers. Sieger represented companies located in the US, Mexico, Canada, Germany and the UK that manufactured parts and component assemblies for the North American Automotive Industry.
Gary brings over 15 years of extensive executive recruiting experience specializing in the placement of senior executives for Tier One and Tier Two automotive suppliers. Before forming Scypta Associates in 2017, Gary held the position of Senior Partner at Sanford Rose Associates – Brighton. Prior to that, he was a Director with a retained international executive search firm, and he was Vice President for a Michigan based boutique search firm.
Gary was awarded a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Ashland University and served on the university’s Alumni Association Board of Directors for six years. Gary is also President of the Phi Delta Theta Alumni Club of Metro Detroit.
Gary’s 30+ years of experience and relationships in the automotive industry means that he has a unique insight into his search assignments that most recruiters do not. This experience helps immensely when he is vetting candidates. Gary also understands the importance of cultural fit for both the client and the candidate.
Gary and his wife have resided in historic Plymouth, MI for over 30 years. When he is not working, he enjoys taking on home projects, attending classic car shows, shooting sporting clays and spending time with his family. In the fall he can be found in northern Michigan and the Upper Peninsula grouse and woodcock hunting with his Irish Red & White Setters.
